Bill Hughes

Bill Hughes

This past summer was only Bill Hughes’ second trip up Mt. Ararat, but he already knew exactly what to do. Brought in as mechanics, he and his son, Will, were always willing to lend a helping hand. As a military veteran, Bill’s determination and stamina surprised and inspired his team members.

When asked about climbing Mt. Ararat, he replied, “I have a job to do at the top, the mountain is just in the way.” He and Will would often have the coffee ready for everyone in the morning to provide a bit of normalcy and structure to the day. When he’s not traveling, Bill and his wife reside in northeastern Washington.
